Care Support Assistant UN - Temporary Part Time

The Care Support Assistant plays a vital role within our communities, impacting residents' lives and fostering human connection.

Your typical day will include:

  1. Providing daily care and support to residents, ensuring a warm, safe environment that meets their comfort and welfare needs.
  2. Supporting residents in preparing for and attending community events that enhance their experience.
  3. Acting as a resident companion, offering comfort, support, and companionship.
  4. Assisting with meal preparations, serving beverages and food.
  5. Handling laundry and housekeeping duties, including restocking, organizing, and transporting laundry.
  6. Participating in resident admission and transfer processes.
  7. Transporting residents within the community as needed.
  8. Performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma.
  • Safe Food Handling Certificate and WHMIS certification.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills with residents, families, and visitors.
  • Ability to demonstrate warmth and compassion in interactions.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written English.
  • Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check (Ontario applicants).
  • Meeting provincial police check and tuberculosis screening requirements as applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with seniors is preferred.
