Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is hiring a Care Support Assistant for Cheltenham Community – North York. The role focuses on delivering day-to-day care with warmth and safety, supporting residents and participating in community events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Safe Food Handling Certificate and WHMIS certificate required.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families and visitors.
• Ability to model warmth and human connection in communication with residents, families, and visitors.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• All applicants must pass the Vulnerable Sector Check (Ontario applicants).
• Must meet provincial police check and tuberculosis screening requirements as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide day to day care and support to each resident in a warm, safe environment and meet their comfort and welfare needs.
• Support residents to prepare for and participate in Care Community events that promote a positive resident experience.
• Act as a resident companion, providing comfort, support and companionship to residents.
• Assist with table/tray preparation, serving of beverages and accompaniments, and serving of food.
• Complete laundry and housekeeping duties, including restocking shelves, making beds, transporting personal laundry, organizing closets, and cleaning bedside tables.
• Participate in admission orientation and the transfer process of residents.
• Transport residents to and from rooms, recreational activities, health office, and dining room.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
