Job summary

St Philips Care is seeking dedicated care assistants for night shifts to support residents in a compassionate, patient-focused environment. Full training is provided and progression opportunities are available within the care team.

The role emphasises reliability, empathy and a strong desire to improve residents' quality of life, with a supportive team and a emphasis on respectful, person-centred care.

Qualifications

• Willing to learn and provide care to clients.
• Passion for elderly care and genuine interest in helping others.
• Reliable with a positive attitude toward work; full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Understand and provide care requirements for clients and their families.
• Assist clients with daily care tasks they would typically perform themselves.
• Participate in holistic caring activities and promote client independence.
• Read and follow Care Plans to ensure continuity of care for each resident.
• Maintain confidentiality and observe residents' rights.
• Assist with moving, dressing, personal hygiene and daily needs.
• Observe changes in residents' condition and report to senior staff.
• Report hazards or unsafe equipment to ensure safety for staff and residents.
• Attend mandatory in-service training and staff development.

Responsibilities

• Understanding and providing the requirements for "normal" health and to have insight into the effects on the client and family when continued care is needed.
• To assist the client in any area of his/her daily care needs which they would normally undertake themselves if they were able to do so.
• To participate in holistic caring activities.
• Care for all clients' needs as required with the aim of optimising their independence.
• Read and act on the Care Plans of each client to promote continuity of care.
• To understand the right of the individual to confidentiality.
• Moving and handling, dressing, and assisting residents in their daily hygiene and dressing needs.
• Observing and reporting any changes in residents' condition
• Report to Senior staff any hazard or unsafe equipment that may be injurious to the health and safety of staff, residents, and visitors
• To attend any in-service training arranged as part of staff development and mandatory training, which is a legal requirement

Desirable qualifications

• Previous experience of care work in a Hospital, Care or Nursing Home.
• A Passion for Care of the Elderly
• NVQ2 / SVQ2 or QCF level 2 in Health and Social Care or Care
