Job summary

Interior Health is seeking an experienced Community Health Worker to join our Home Support Team in Castlegar BC. You will work with a dynamic team of nurses and LPNs to support community clients’ independence and the ability to stay at home, delivering personal care and daily living assistance.

This relief part-time position (0.55) runs a 5 on/2 off schedule, with shifts 07:00–13:00, and until October 13, 2026 or the return of the incumbent.

Responsibilities

• Bathing, dressing, grooming and oral hygiene
• Household duties to maintain a safe home environment
• Meal preparation per designated plans
• Mobility assistance and transfers
• Observation and reporting of changes in client condition
• Performing delegated tasks according to training and procedures

About The Job

As a Community Health Worker, you will work as part of a dynamic team of Nurses and LPNs who support Community Clients' independence and ability to stay at home. Community Health Workers provide home support services to clients, by assisting with personal care and daily living, while promoting maximum independence. Community Health Workers are key players in the home health care plan for each client.

Typical Duties Include

• Activities of daily personal care, such as bathing, dressing, grooming and oral hygiene
• Household duties related to maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home
• Meal preparation in accordance with designated plans
• Assistance with mobility and transfers
• Observing and reporting changes in client behaviour and condition
• Performing delegated tasks according with training and procedures

This is a Relief Part Time (0.55) opportunity until October 13, 2026, or the return of the incumbent.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days rotating from 07:00 to 13:00 hours. This is a 5 on 2 off, 5 on 3 off rotating schedule.
