Qualifications

  • Assist with training of CVT students and educate other staff.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The CVT performs, processes and coordinates all patient exams—Holter, ECG, BP Monitoring, and completes all necessary documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Current registration with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologist (CSCT)
  2. Two-year Community College diploma in CVT program
  3. Experience in ECG
  4. Experience in Cardiac Stress
  5. Experience in Holter Scanning
  6. Extensive knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathology
  7. Proficient at identifying all cardiac arrhythmias
  8. Demonstrated advanced ECG interpretive skills
  9. Proficient computer skills
  10. Current BCLS
  11. Strong knowledge of emergency procedure and crash cart medications

RESPONSIBILITES

  1. Provide excellent patient care
  2. Ensure timely completion of exams in an efficient and smooth-running lab
  3. Prioritize requests accordingly
  4. Screen, perform, monitor and assess patients during procedures
  5. Flag any abnormalities to the reporting Cardiologist’s attention
  6. Respond and assist Cardiologist if the patient becomes unstable during procedures
  7. Work closely with Cardiologist to monitor patients and complete procedures as needed
  8. Review completed procedures for quality and completion
  9. Complete necessary documentation post-procedure
  10. Download patient information and analyze/interpret recordings
  11. Print patient recording reports as needed
  12. Maintain equipment for functionality and archival storage
  13. Maintain a safe environment for patients, family, visitors, and staff
  14. Follow anti-septic technique for equipment cleaning and maintenance
  15. Check department crash cart—stocked and ready for use
  16. Rotate and perform other CVT modalities and duties as needed
  17. Prepare Teletrace patient kits
  18. Review and correct procedure information into EPIC (Dovetale), e.g., ECGs
  19. Assist with training of CVT students
  20. Assist with educating other staff, residents, fellows, and students
