Collingwood General and Marine Hospital (CGMH) is an 84-bed hospital located in Collingwood, Ontario, approximately 90 minutes north of Toronto. It serves over 74,000 residents and 3.5 million visitors annually in communities including Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, Clearview, and the Blue Mountains. CGMH provides emergency care, diagnostic services such as lab, imaging, and cardio respiratory therapy, inpatient units (medicine and surgery), and specialty areas including obstetrics, orthopaedics, intensive care, and surgery. The Opportunity

The Cardiovascular Technologist performs cardiac testing in accordance with the standards of the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists. The role supports physicians and hospital staff by providing preliminary reports promptly to facilitate quick results. The technologist also educates other staff, students, and patients.

Qualifications
  • Registered member of the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists
  • College diploma from a two-year Cardiovascular Technology program
  • At least one year of diagnostic experience in an acute care hospital
  • Current BCLS certification
  • Commitment to providing a safe, supportive environment
  • Adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Act duties
  • Effective communication skills in English; additional languages are assets
  • Basic computer skills
  • Dedication to professional growth
  • Ability to perform physical duties such as patient transfers, pushing, pulling, and bending
  • Excellent attendance and performance record
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • ECG interpretation course preferred
  • Additional healthcare education is an asset
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Performs cardiac diagnostics (stress tests, ECGs, Holter monitors)
  • Responds to ECG requests across hospital areas
  • Ensures equipment safety and environment assessment
  • Maintains patient confidentiality
  • Understands informed consent components
  • Promotes team approach in healthcare
  • Communicates diagnostic results effectively
  • Develops and maintains patient records and MIS data
  • Uses Meditech for patient information management
  • Follows infection control guidelines
  • Complies with OH&S responsibilities
  • Manages cardiology supplies
  • Transports patients as needed
  • Reviews policies and participates in quality assurance
  • Evaluates cardio equipment

Hours of Work: Includes weekdays, weekends, and all shifts (days, evenings, nights) due to 24/7 hospital operations

Wage: $35.41 - $42.05
