Job Description: Cardiology Technologist (Casual/Part-Time)

Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled Cardiology Technologist to join our team on a casual basis. The technologist will collaborate with a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform stress procedures under physician supervision, primarily at our Innisfil location.

The ideal candidate must be patient-focused and proficient in performing high-quality non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures safely, following practice standards, radiation safety principles, and protocols.

Responsibilities:
  • Proper patient identification, verification of pregnancy/breastfeeding status, explaining procedures, responding to questions, obtaining history and consent.
  • Patient preparation, performing nuclear medicine stress tests, data processing, management on workstations, and database management in EMR.
  • Monitoring patients (EKG, blood pressure) during stress testing under physician supervision.
  • Providing excellent patient care, recognizing deteriorating conditions or emergencies.
  • Ensuring equipment accuracy and efficiency.
  • Adhering to policies and completing radiation safety training.
  • Digital post-processing, report preparation, PACS/EMR use.
  • Participating in educational, safety, and quality programs.
  • Maintaining a clean and stocked lab environment.
  • Training new staff as needed.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a recognized Cardiovascular Technology program or equivalent.
  • Active registration or eligibility with CSCT/OSCT.
  • Professional liability insurance.
  • Current BCLS certification; ACLS preferred.
  • Knowledge of arrhythmia recognition and response.
  • Experience in nuclear cardiology and/or pharmacologic stress testing preferred.
  • Commitment to patient care.
  • Phlebotomy or IV insertion experience is an asset.
  • Professional communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and work under pressure.
  • Independent judgment and initiative.
  • Friendly, professional attitude towards patients and colleagues.
  • Discretion with confidential information.
  • Proficiency with EMRs.
  • Satisfactory criminal record check.
