Island Health’s Department of Cardiology is currently recruiting a full-time Cardiologist with specialized training in Cardiac Device Implantation to join our team at NRGH in Nanaimo. You will work alongside experienced cardiologists, cardiac internists, and intensivists to establish a new Heart Health Division in Nanaimo, as part of the existing 20-member Division of Cardiology in Victoria.

Applicants must hold Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Cardiology and demonstrate competency in all cardiology aspects. Responsibilities include coverage of the coronary care unit and cardiology wards, device implantation, and managing patients in the Pacemaker Clinic. Additional device management training is available through our affiliated electrophysiology group at Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria.

Opportunities for academic affiliation and teaching are available through the University of British Columbia, Island Medical Program, involving learners from medical students to fellows.

Education, Training, and Experience:

• FRCPC Cardiology (or eligible)
• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC
