Job description

Cardiac Surgeon

Trillium Health Partners (THP) is the largest community-based academic health network in Ontario, serving over one million residents in Mississauga, Peel Region, and West Toronto. The hospital encompasses three main sites – Credit Valley Hospital (CVH), Mississauga Hospital (MH), and Queensway Health Centre (QHC) – offering a full range of acute care hospital services, as well as various community-based specialized programs. THP is the Regional Advanced Cardiac Program with comprehensive services including Cardiac Surgery, Interventional Cardiology (with a robust structural heart program), Electrophysiology, and general and specialized Cardiology services.

The Cardiac Surgery program is high volume and high acuity. We currently have a position available for a Cardiac Surgeon to join a long-standing collaborative practice. The successful candidate should have FRCSC certification in Cardiac Surgery. Formal training or expertise in structural heart technologies or lesser access valve procedures would be considered assets.

The organization is an affiliated academic teaching center with the University of Toronto, and the Cardiac Surgeons provide highly recognized training at all levels. The successful candidate will require an appointment to the Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto.

Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to team-based and inter-professional care are essential.

The successful candidate will also promote and exemplify excellence in professional practice and conduct, and must be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice in Ontario, Canada.
