Job summary

West Parry Sound Health Centre in Parry Sound, Ontario, seeks a Cardiac Sonographer to perform echocardiographic procedures for patients of all ages. The role supports timely clinical assessments and efficient operation of patient care programs within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
  • Minimum one (1) year of full-time health care experience in all aspects of adult echocardiography; pediatrics is an asset.
  • Demonstrated excellent patient care skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various computer applications and software related to healthcare programs (Microsoft Office, Meditech, PACS).
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and accurately, both autonomously and as an effective team member.

About the Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Cardiac Sonographer to join our interdisciplinary team of skilled professionals. Reporting to the Manager of Laboratory Services & Medical Imaging , the Cardiac Sonographer will perform echocardiographic procedures for patients of all ages. This role supports timely and accurate clinical assessments in support of the multidisciplinary team and to facilitate the efficient and effective operation of patient care programs .

Regular working hours will be day shifts, Monday to Friday.

More About You

To qualify for the role, you will also need to have:

  • Demonstrated satisfactory attendance levels, work performance, disciplinary history and positive work references;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various computer applications and software related to healthcare programs (Microsoft Office, Meditech, PACS);
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and accurately, both autonomously and as an effective team member;
Preferred Qualifications include:
  • Registration with Sonography Canada
  • Experience with Contrast Echo, TEE and Stress Echo is preferred.
  • Vascular Sonography experience an asset
