Job summary

Municipality of Clarington in Bowmanville, Ontario is seeking a Coordinator, Projects and Capital Planning to drive cross‑departmental initiatives and support digital transformation. This hybrid role reports to the Manager, Projects and Capital Planning and will guide projects from planning through implementation.

Candidates should have a degree or diploma and 2–3 years in project coordination, with knowledge of Lean, strong communication, and experience with Microsoft 365 tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 2–3 years in project coordination or project management support.
• Knowledge of project coordination principles, Lean, and performance measurement.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with accuracy and discretion.
• Strong written and verbal communications for briefing notes and reports.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate departmental and corporate projects and cross-functional initiatives.
• Act as project lead on assigned work, including planning, coordination and reporting.
• Develop and maintain charters, work plans, RACI matrices, briefing notes, and status updates.
• Facilitate project meetings and capture decisions and action items.
• Monitor timelines, risks, budgets and escalate concerns with options.
• Support continuous improvement and change management initiatives.
