Job description

YORK CATHOLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD invites applications for the position of Capital and Asset Renewal HVAC Supervisor (Exempt Level 6) with a salary range of $79,368 to $100,787 per annum. This is a permanent full-time position.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Manager of Capital and Asset Renewal, the HVAC Supervisor oversees HVAC systems to ensure efficient operation, compliance, and performance in conjunction with renewal projects.

Major Responsibilities

1. Plan, implement, and oversee HVAC-related projects, including upgrades, energy management, and integration with building automation systems (BAS).
2. Ensure compliance with codes, fire inspections, and municipal bylaws; develop maintenance guidelines.
3. Assist in evaluating service providers for HVAC projects and contracts.
4. Collaborate with principals on school enhancement requests, providing guidance on scope and contractor selection.
5. Manage HVAC projects, maintaining confidentiality and adherence to Board guidelines.
6. Coordinate HVAC work with other building systems such as WAN, LAN, and energy technologies.
7. Respond to emergencies and participate in the 24-hour on-call schedule.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree or Advanced College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, HVAC Systems Technology, or equivalent.
• 4-5 years of HVAC project management experience.
• Ability to travel within York Region.
• Proven leadership in a unionized environment.
