Job summary

BBA Consultants in Mont-Saint-Hilaire, QC is seeking an Engineer to join the Mechanical team focused on explosive dust management, dust collection, and industrial ventilation. You will handle risk analyses, design plans, technical reports, and on-site coordination across wood, mining, energy and heavy industry sectors.

As you progress, you’ll assume project management responsibilities and build client relationships, with opportunities for site work and professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering; Registered with OIQ.
• Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and clients in English-speaking regions; may use English occasionally.
• Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and clients in Québec.
• Willingness to travel short- and mid-term for projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in risk analyses (DHA, HAZID, HAZOP).
• Write technical reports and design plans, details and specifications per senior guidance.
• Provide recommendations on standards and practical applications.
• Coordinate the work of drafters and other team members.
• Supervise on-site contractors and participate in site audits.
• Develop BBA's dust management expertise across projects.

Your future role on our team

You’ll joinour Mechanical team specializing in explosivedust management, dust collection and industrial ventilation. In this role,you’ll gain exposure to a wide variety of situations in which to develop yourtechnical and professional skills. You’ll be involved in projects dealing with dustmanagement and associated risks, including risk analysis, dust collectionsystems and fire protection in the heavy industry sector.

As anengineer, you’ll be involved in all phases of projects, including riskanalysis, engineering, technological choices and solution implementation.You’ll help identify business opportunities and prepare proposals in a varietyof industrial sectors, such as wood, mining, energy and heavy industry. As youprogress, you’ll start to take on technical and project managementresponsibilities and work to build lasting relationships with our clients.

Summary of job requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
• Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects
• Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
• Available for short- and medium-term trips outside the office
• Relevant experience in project management, cost estimates, technical report writing, and troubleshooting
• Asset: good knowledge of NFPA, ATEX, CSA, IEC and CNPI standards
• Asset: relevant experience in the industrial sector
• Asset: ASPConstruction card
