Summary:

We are actively seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Edmonton. As a Human Resources Generalist, you will be an integral part of the HR team. Reporting to the SVP, Talent & Culture, you will be responsible for supporting various human resource functions such as recruitment, employee relations, performance management and health & safety.

Responsibilities:

HR, Talent & Culture

  • Provide direction, insight, and assistance to managers and employees on HR & talent related matters such as employee relations, engagement, benefits, performance and inclusion, equity and diversity
  • Work with managers on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
  • Support the annual year-end performance process and employee evaluations.
  • Promote positive workplace culture and ensure employee engagement by being an active member of the Edmonton & Cal social committees and the National Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee
  • Monitor employee development, promoting training and career advancement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety regualtions and participate in the Health & Safety Committee.
  • Actively participate in national HR projects to contribute to the overall growth and success of our HR initiatives.

Recruitment

  • Manage full recruitment cycle, including job posting, screening candidates, conducting interviews, extending offers and facilitating new employee onboarding.
  • Is the point of contact for LinkedIn recruitment and manage postings in accordance with recruitment priorities.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in human resources with experience in recruitment
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation (ESA, Human Rights Code, OHSA).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office; ideally experience with Dayforce or other integrated HRIS including ATS and with LinkedIn recruitment.
