Pay Rate: $20 CAD Per Hour (Paid via PayPal)

Working Hours: 20 or 37.5 hours per week

Location: Toronto, Ontario / Anywhere in Canada

Job Introduction

Location: Canada (must live & have permission to work in Canada on a permanent basis) 100% remote work-from-home position. Canadian residents only.

Contract: 12-month contract with an extension likely. Self-employed contractor responsible for own taxes. No benefits.

The Role:

As an elementary French content writer for Canada, you will be involved in planning, organizing and creating resources and other content for the site. A large part of this role will be creating Twinkl resources in French, writing category descriptions, blogs and more for our Canadian customers in English. You will need to have a strong, current working knowledge of the primary and intermediate curriculum, as well as experience working to curriculum standards within a school in Canada.

In this role, you will be:

  1. Working with the Canadian team in creating and editing resources for the subject of French, in line with provincial and territorial curricula;
  2. Completing administrative tasks which will focus on your professional development and career goals;
  3. Supporting other content writers/editors to help check French resources (quality control);
  4. Creating innovative materials to accompany themes and events;
  5. Ensuring you hit your KPIs and targets by learning our process and working efficiently;
  6. Developing greater commercial awareness to understand the needs of those we want to help.
To succeed in the role, you will be:
  1. A currently qualified elementary teacher (In good standing) with full class responsibility in a school (Ideally Public Schools) with a minimum of 2 years experience teaching the subject of French;
  2. Have Native or Business level French language proficiency (Both written and spoken);
  3. Have excellent English language proficiency (Both written and spoken to a C1/C2 level);
  4. Have a sound, current working knowledge of the existing intermediate and primary framework;
  5. Bring fresh ideas and a good insight into what teachers want and need, and how to execute this;
  6. Execute excellent spelling, punctuation and grammar (In French and English);
  7. Be comfortable in prioritizing, organizing and project planning;
  8. Be able to execute on projects;
  9. Have effective time management skills;
  10. Be comfortable pivoting on current projects to new opportunities as they arise;
  11. Show the ability to work under your own initiative and take your own creative direction with minimum supervision.

  1. Previous experience as a writer & editor (either personally or professionally);
  2. Native French & English language skills (Both written and spoken).
