Overview

Responsibilities
  • Teach 4-6 graduate-level courses per year, as assigned by the Academic Program Director (APD).
  • Participate in developing and updating course curricula and materials.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Incorporate innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance student learning.
  • Conduct original research in school counselling-related fields.
  • Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at professional conferences.
  • Collaborate and mentor colleagues on research initiatives.
  • Serve on departmental and university committees or initiatives.
  • Participate in departmental meetings.
  • Provide additional instructional support as assigned by APD.
  • Engage in community outreach and professional service activities.
Qualifications
  • PhD in Counselling Psychology or related fields. Master's degree candidates may be considered based on their level of experience.
  • Experience teaching at the K-12 and/or post-secondary level.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching and research.
  • Counsellor Education from a recognized program accredited by CCPA, CPA, BCACC, or the equivalent is desired.
  • Experience in a school counselling role in a K-12 setting is desired.
  • Registration as a teacher or a relevant professional body is desired.
