We are currently looking for a Tax Manager to join our team.

What you can expect in this role:

Reporting to the Vice President, Tax, the Tax Manager will be responsible for the calculation of tax provision and related financial statement disclosures for quarterly reporting, and the preparation of annual income tax filings. The role also includes the preparation of QST, GST and Sales & Use returns, and the maintenance of all tax accounts. Additionally, continuous process improvements to maintain SOX compliance and other special projects.

More specifically, here are some of the key responsibilities:

  • Preparation of quarterly tax provision for all Canadian entities, coordination with the US Tax Manager and Senior Finance Analyst Taxation for integration of US and LATAM tax provisions, preparation of note disclosures, and coordinating with external audit firm in quarterly review and year-end audits
  • Preparation and review of month-end closing tasks related to income tax accounts, instalments, VAT filings, Sales & Use filings, and analysis
  • Tax audit support, including research on issues raised by auditors and preparation of responses.
  • Documenting the Company’s tax related accounting policies in accordance with IFRS and maintenance of tax accounts
  • Preparation of year-end tax returns for all Canadian entities, related instalment analysis
  • Supporting reviews of transfer pricing, property tax and employment tax issues for existing operations and business development opportunities
  • Assist in other special projects, ad hoc reporting requirements and SOX requirement

Here's the profile we're looking for:

  • CPA designation
  • 3-5 years experience involving the preparation of IFRS tax provision and returns for public company; Big Four experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS for tax reporting and experience with tax automation.
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite user (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Bilingual (English and French), to allow effective correspondence with Tax Authorities in Canada

Good to have:

  • Inquisitive mind and desire to learn in an emerging industry
  • Strong work ethic and sense of ownership
  • Team player that is also able to work independently and work well with others
  • Flexible and adaptable; experience working in a dynamic environment is an asset
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills
  • Experience with accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics / Navision, Workiva and tax automation is an asset)

  • Work location: Brossard (Head office), currently hybrid with 1-2 days per week in person as necessary
