Why Versys?

We’re not your average commissioning firm. Founded by field technicians who’ve walked in your boots, we’ve spent over a decade building a company that puts people and performance first. Our team is stacked with commissioning veterans—150+ years of combined experience—and we’re proud to support our field crews with expert leadership, reliable logistics, and a culture that gets it.

What You’ll Do

As a Commissioning Mechanic, your hands-on experience will be crucial in executing safe, efficient, and thorough mechanical commissioning on oil and gas equipment. You’ll be expected to:

  • Lead mechanical commissioning, start-up, and functional testing of systems and rotating equipment
  • Perform troubleshooting and emergency response for mechanical systems and site utilities
  • Oversee mechanical system flushing, pressure testing, and verification procedures
  • Work closely with engineers and electricians during integrated testing and turnover
  • Ensure site compliance with QA/QC standards and safety protocols
  • Support and mentor junior field staff as needed

What You Bring to the Table

  • 10+ years of mechanical commissioning experience in oil & gas environments
  • Journeyman certification or equivalent mechanical trade qualification
  • Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, isometric drawings, and mechanical documentation
  • Familiarity with pre-commissioning, static, and dynamic system checks
  • Strong working knowledge of process equipment, pumps, compressors, valves, piping systems, and rotating machinery
  • Solid computer skills (including MS Office) and strong report writing abilities
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel
  • Safety tickets including H2S, First Aid, Fall Protection, and Confined Space

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly wages and generous daily per diems
  • ESOP program—because your contributions matter
  • Health benefits contributions for peace of mind
  • Opportunities for advancement and professional growth
  • A leadership team that supports you—and actually listens

Let’s Get to Work

If you’re a seasoned Commissioning Mechanic with oil and gas experience and a drive to do things right, we want to hear from you. Apply today, and our team will be in touch with qualified candidates.
