Job description

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of BooksTime. We are currently looking for a Canada IT Project Manager and Generalist in Canada.

Accountabilities

  • Provide IT support by responding to internal helpdesk tickets and managing staff access across 20+ software platforms.
  • Oversee onboarding/offboarding IT processes, maintaining system integrity and user management protocols.
  • Lead or contribute to internal IT projects focused on automation, infrastructure improvements, and cost efficiency.
  • Support and enhance cybersecurity systems and practices, including threat monitoring, compliance, and staff training.
  • Identify opportunities for improving user experience across IT systems and proactively recommend or implement solutions.
  • Depending on experience level, may supervise junior IT team members and lead larger, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with a passion for figuring out new tools and systems independently.
  • Excellent organization and project management skills, able to balance priorities and meet deadlines across multiple initiatives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; capable of supporting non-technical colleagues with clear, professional guidance.
  • Comfortable working remotely with minimal supervision, especially during evolving projects or undefined challenges.
  • Availability for at least 2 hours overlapping 9–11am Eastern Time daily.
  • Ability to adapt to changing responsibilities as the company’s IT and security needs evolve.

Preferred (but not required):

  • 3+ years of experience in IT, software development, or project/product management.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, cybersecurity protocols, and information security compliance.
  • Certifications like CEH, GSEC, Security+, CISA, CISSP, or others related to InfoSec.
  • Current or past security clearance (strongly preferred).
  • Competitive salary based on experience and seniority:
    • $20–$30 CAD/hour for early-career candidates
    • Higher rates for experienced professionals or those taking on supervisory duties
