Job summary

TC Energy is seeking a Canada Gas TOMS Advisor to lead the development, implementation, and sustainment of critical processes across Canada Gas. You will coordinate with operations, projects, commercial, environment, land, regulatory, and safety teams to ensure effective rollout and continuous improvement of controls, incident management, emergency, business continuity, and project execution programs.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, you will map processes, set objectives, build implementation

Qualifications

The Opportunity

Canada Gas TOMS Implementation & Sustainment Team is committed to the delivery of centralized programs and services to support safety and operational excellence. We are seeking an energetic individual to lead the implementation of critical processes to transform how we work across Canada Gas.

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Canada Gas TOMS Implementation & Sustainment the Canada Gas TOMS Advisor is responsible for leading the development and implementation and sustainment of programs, processes and procedures across Canada Gas including but not limited to Control of Work, Incident Management, Emergency, Business Continuity & Security Management and Project Execution & Integration to enable safe execution of work, operational preparedness and organizational learning form events and incidents. Canada Gas TOMS Advisor will collaborate with key stakeholders including operations, projects, commercial, environment, land and regulatory and safety and technical services to ensure effective implementation, while serving as advocate for operational requirements.

What you’ll do
  • Lead development and continuous improvement of Control of Work, Incident Management, Emergency, Business Continuity & Security Management and Projects, Modifications & Construction Programs in alignment with enterprise processes and standards.
  • Lead process mapping to establish program requirements.
  • Establish implementation objectives and roadmap in alignment with operational, commercial, technical and compliance requirements.
  • Develop implementation deliverables, including budgets, schedules, resourcing strategies and implementation plans.
  • Implement Programs through cross-functional collaboration to ensure integration across all stakeholders.
  • Serve as a program champion influencing mindsets and behaviors across the organization by modelling strong safety leadership, promoting psychological safety, and supporting active learning.
  • Identify, assess and proactively manage risks through development and implementation of mitigation and contingency strategies.
  • Identify training requirements to facilitate rollout and coordinate development and implementation of training strategy.
  • Implement program change management techniques to minimize change fatigue and support successful implementation
  • Monitor performance and provide regular status updates to stakeholders including support of the yearly management review.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for sustainment including process improvements, innovation, and optimization to enhance program delivery and value realization.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in safety, project management, regulatory, operations or commercial
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient in control of work processes, safe work practices and permit systems, project execution and integration, emergency management and business continuity, incident investigation and learning
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire and be a champion for change.
  • Ability to influence without authority.
  • Ability to translate process requirements to business outcomes
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to think strategically and tactically
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to effectively present information to senior leaders and stakeholder teams
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and competing demands in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships and effectively collaborate with stakeholders across different departments and levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Experience with pipeline management systems (OPR SOR/99-294)
  • Familiarity with industry safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience with SAP and Enablon tools
