Job description

Position Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring that fresh produce and meat entering the perishable distribution centres (PDCs) meet quality and regulatory requirements, as well as Walmart Canada's standards.

What you'll do
  1. Accurate and efficient inspection of incoming shipments of produce and meat arriving at the Walmart PDC to ensure they meet Walmart's and CFIA specifications for quality and labeling.
  2. Conduct routine inspections of staple stock items to review product quality and conformance standards.
  3. Make decisions to accept or reject products based on inspection results.
  4. Report and communicate any deficiencies in inbound quality and/or compliance promptly to Walmart PDC cross-functional team members.
  5. Maintain and update produce and meat specifications as required.
  6. Inspect outbound loads to ensure they are built to prevent product damage.
  7. Monitor cold chain (temperature) compliance for inbound and outbound products to ensure standards are met.
  8. Participate in special projects and shelf-life studies as part of continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills: email, Excel, Word
  • Ability to follow company policies, procedures, guidelines, and compliance requirements during product inspections.
  • Strong judgment skills to leverage policies, procedures, and guides for effective decision-making.
  • Customer service focus: asks questions to understand and meet associate and customer needs.
  • Results-oriented with attention to detail; capable of multitasking and prioritizing to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing work demands and priorities.

The pay range for this position is $52,000.00 - $65,050.00, determined based on relevant experience.
