Position Summary...
This is a 12-month contract role for maternity leave coverage. Consistent with the vision of the Director, this position is responsible for the design, development, implementation and oversight of the core compliance program elements (standards, controls, training, awareness and monitoring) related to the digital healthcare portfolio of services, operations and strategic programs initiated by the Walmart Canada Health & Wellness business.
This position will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Professional Services and Legal, in developing standard operating procedures, policies, dashboarding and control identification. In addition, this position will conduct ongoing assessments, assist in the development and delivery of corresponding training to field teams and communication to key stakeholders, and closely monitoring the regulatory landscape for changes in the highly evolving digital healthcare space. Finally, this position will be required to work on the development of an end to end billing program.
What you'll do...
- Consistent with the vision of the Director, designs, develops, implements and oversees the core compliance program elements related to the digital healthcare portfolio of services, operations and strategic programs initiated by the Walmart Canada Health & Wellness business.
- Tracks data and creates reports to assist in the analysis of compliance and safety issues related to the digital healthcare program including but not limited to ongoing regulatory monthly inspections, regulatory contacts, trackers, adverse event reporting, core measures, recalls, operational assessments and other key performance indicators.
- Works with cross-functional teams, including Professional Services and Legal, to develop and implement standard operating procedures, policies, dashboarding and control identification to ensure professional services for digital initiatives are operated in a safe and compliant manner. This may include standards and procedures relating to:
- licensing, accreditation and insurance;
- drug dispensing;
- prescription home delivery;
- central fill or other applicable dispensing models;
- prescription and identification marking;
- privacy, reporting and record keeping;
- narcotics and controlled drugs and substances;
- billing compliance and claims processing.
- In collaboration with the Director, the Compliance Continuous Improvement team and key business partners, assists with the development of assessments and reporting to provide transparency on compliance performance related to the digital healthcare program to senior management and key business partners.
- Reviews and responds to any gaps or deficiencies identified in Compliance Continuous Improvement assessments, internal audit reports, or Professional Services operational reviews. Partners with Professional Services operations to address any identified program or training opportunities.
- Conducts facility and distribution center assessments, ensuring compliance with Walmart policies, guidelines and applicable laws with particular focus on understanding processes and gaps to ensure robust development of compliance programs, training and controls.
- Develops and delivers compliance training and communications, ensures ongoing effectiveness.
- Articulates corporate positions on compliance matters to regulators and external agencies.
- Develops external relationships and alliances strengthening the company’s reputation within compliance community and leads regulatory outreach meetings, ensuring that the company’s compliance programs, policies, procedures and reports are communicated in a persuasive, accurate and understandable way and that sensitive data is protected.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist (Minimum 5 years’ experience) or experience within the pharmaceutical industry
- Canadian Retail Stores Experience
