Position Summary

Working as a Self-Checkout Attendant at Walmart Canada is a great way to develop your skills in the retail industry. A Self-Checkout Attendant provides exceptional customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience and assists customers processing transactions through the self-service area(s). If you are looking for an exciting job in customer service or retail, working as a Self-Checkout Attendant may be a great fit for you!

What you'll do
  1. Keep the area neat, clean, and organized, free of fixtures, unnecessary debris, foreign objects, and liquids.
  2. Educate customers on the correct and efficient use of self-service options, when applicable.
  3. Promote company sponsor programs, such as credit card services, product protection, and charity initiatives, when applicable.
  4. Observe customer activities to determine when and if assistance is needed.
  5. Politely explain the reasons for self-service interventions and quality checks, reassuring customers that such checks are normal protocol.
  6. Demonstrate knowledge about responding to EAS alarms and filling out the "Failure to Deactivate" Log.
  7. Call the Customer Service Manager when the self-service area is low on cash or has a technical issue.
  8. Return Scan & Go scanners to their designated location after use.
