Walmart Canada is seeking a Self‑Checkout Attendant in Halifax to support a positive shopping experience. You will assist customers at the self-checkout area, maintain cleanliness and safety, promote Walmart programs, and handle alarms and scanner equipment with care.

This role requires flexibility for evenings, weekends and holidays, with physical duties including standing and occasional heavy lifting. Training is provided for store operations and customer service excellence.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Maintain Self Checkout Area Standards

Maintains a clean, safe, and organized self checkout area, ensuring it remains free of fixtures, unnecessary debris, foreign objects, and spills.

Promote Walmart Programs and Initiatives
Supports the promotion of company sponsored programs, including credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives, when applicable.

Support Customers at Self Checkout
Helps customers use self checkout quickly and confidently by offering assistance when needed, monitoring activity, and completing required checks. Clearly explain any interventions in a friendly, reassuring way and elevate cash or technical issues to the Customer Service Manager.

Respond to EAS Alerts and Complete Documentation
Responds to EAS alarms in accordance with procedures and accurately completes the “Failure to Deactivate” log.

Manage Scan & Go Equipment
Ensures Scan & Go scanners are returned to their designated storage locations after use.

Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule)
Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Your adaptability helps ensure the store runssmoothlyand customers receive consistent, high-quality service.

Performs physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting inventory, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 20 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

Performs repetitive tasks such as stocking, zoning, and organizing products with attention to detail and consistency to uphold store standards.
