(CAN) Self Checkout Attendant

Position Summary

Working as a Self-Checkout Attendant at Walmart Canada offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in the retail industry. The role involves providing exceptional customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience and assisting customers with transactions in the self-service area(s).

What you'll do

1. Keep the area neat, clean, and organized, free of fixtures, unnecessary debris, foreign objects, and liquids.
2. Educate customers on the correct and efficient use of self-service options, when applicable.
3. Promote company-sponsored programs, such as credit card services, product protection, and charity initiatives, when applicable.
4. Observe customer activities to determine when and if assistance is needed.
5. When interventions or quality checks are required, politely explain the reasons and reassure customers that such checks are normal protocol.
6. Respond to EAS alarms and complete the "Failure to Deactivate" Log.
7. Contact the Customer Service Manager if the self-service area is low on cash or has technical issues.
8. Return Scan & Go scanners to their designated storage after use.

The starting pay rate for this position is $17.55 per hour, with the rate determined based on relevant experience.
