Job description

Position Summary Responsible for providing a generalist HR service to a region covering responsibilities including but not limited to; staffing, training, performance management, associate relations, compliance with HR policies and procedures, investigations as well as both broad and market specific regulatory requirements for their assigned region. This position partners closely with Senior Director of Operations and other management on a regular basis.

What You'll Do

  • Manages and provides guidance to a team of high performing HRBPs that deliver daily HR support to the DC Operations for a region.
  • Ensure completion and implementation of staffing plans, talent management reviews, performance improvement plans and succession planning such that they are effectively used to support operational performance.
  • Collaborate with Senior Directors and operations management team to identify and solve resource challenges and opportunities including strategic workforce planning for daily production volume, peaks, season hiring and labour mix ratio.
  • Serve as a “Voice of the Associate” to the leadership team to ensure fair and consistent treatment and continuously identify improvement opportunities. Manage AES process including administration, communication and action planning roll-out.
  • Oversees the DC recruitment and on-boarding process, monitors turnover and required headcount to meet business needs. Responsible for all salaried recruitment and on-boarding.
  • Monitor and address deficiencies across HR metrics such as turnover, engagement, attendance, leaves, modified work programs, training and development etc.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of special projects and or/topical training programs
  • Provide direction, counseling and hands-on support as needed to resolve complex HR issues/problems such as investigations, associate relations, legal, harassment, accountability, HR compliance, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • HR certifications such as CPHR, SHRM-CP, or SPHR are considered assets
  • 7–10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years’ experience in a leadership role supporting multi-site operations
  • Proven experience in logistics, distribution, or supply chain environments is highly desirable
  • Leadership & Influence: Ability to lead HR teams across multiple locations and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strategic Thinking: Aligning HR strategies with business goals.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Using data to drive decisions and measure HR effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of Employment Law: Especially regional/provincial laws
  • Project Management: Leading HR initiatives across regions.
