Overview
The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for all day-to-day activities affecting the people, operations, and merchandise in their division. The Pharmacy Manager must also ensure the Pharmacy operates according to Walmart policy, professional standards, and provincial and federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Pharmacy and OTC teams including participation in the recruitment and interviewing of candidates, train all associates on OBWs/SOPs and Walmart workflow and ensure their execution.
- Develop, assess, motivate and retain team members.
- Promote Walmart's brand to team members and customers.
- Develop a functional and collaborative relationship with the Professional Services District Manager, Store Management team, and Store Manager.
- Operate Pharmacy to achieve established plans and budgets; manage schedules, assess associates, and conduct periodic performance reviews.
- Develop and execute business action plans to meet corporate goals and develop corrective action plans based on deficiencies identified in reports or audits.
- Maintain accurate inventories in the Pharmacy following OBWs/SOPs, manage receiving and disposal of inventory, address customer complaints, and ensure excellent customer experience.
- Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the Pharmacy to meet 6S standards and ensure a professional image.
- Cascade communication from the SSC to all Pharmacy associates and OTC.
- Execute all programs assigned to the Pharmacy by the Professional Services team.
- Develop collaborative relationships with other health care providers within the store (clinics, Vision Centre, community, etc.).
- Ensure Pharmacy is open and operational during posted business hours; supervise and support the OTC manager; locate merchandise on the sales floor.
- Establish strong working relationships with Professional Services District Managers and other stakeholders.
- Accept prescriptions and/or refill requests from customers, doctors or hospitals; ensure accurate, efficient, and safe dispensing and counsel patients on pharmaceutical products.
- Ensure proper storage of pharmaceutical products and adherence to OBWs/SOPs.
- Operate all equipment in the pharmacy (register, computer system, etc.); protect and maintain patient privacy at all times and follow provincial regulations.
- Ensure patients receive eligible services (e.g., medication reviews, injections) to meet specific patient needs.
