(CAN) Pharmacy Assistant

Position Summary... The Pharmacy Assistant assists the Pharmacist in the technical aspects of prescription filling and administrative duties to support patient care. The Pharmacy Assistant is a key team member in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations and customer service.

What you'll do...

1. Receiving prescriptions: From patients, following legal/regulatory conditions, and assessing completeness (Name, Address, DOB, Allergies, 3rd Party Info, Special Requests, Prescriber, Generic/Brand, Prioritization).
2. Computer Functions: Data Entry, Price Check, Patient Info Updates, interpreting prescriptions, refills, report generation, profile checks.
3. Filling prescriptions: Under Pharmacist supervision, selecting products, accuracy checks, labeling, organizing for pharmacist review, managing verbal refills, and supporting Cognitive Services.
4. Inventory Control: Maintaining stock levels, checking for expired meds, managing returns, ordering supplies, operating equipment, and maintaining drug knowledge.
5. Housekeeping: Stocking supplies, cleaning, organizing, and maintaining a safe work environment.
6. Clerical Organization: Filing prescriptions, invoices, reports, and supporting administrative tasks.
7. OTC Operations: Assisting with ordering, stocking, cashier duties as assigned.
