Job summary

Walmart Canada is seeking a Meat Associate to provide exemplary customer service, maintain and zone the meat area, and assist with stocking and sale of goods. The role includes food handling, cold chain compliance, and preparing deli items as required.

On-site position at 9455 Mississauga Rd, Brampton, ON. Minimum wage starts at 18.05 CAD per hour with health and safety guidelines strictly followed.

Responsibilities

• Zones the department.
• Rotates stock and checks for expired products.
• Ensures merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• Adheres to standards for cold chain, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates and expiration dates.
• Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; slices and prepares meat, cheese, fried chicken; provides assistance.
• Follows procedures for ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing, pricing and labels.
• Prepares deli food orders and uses slicers, stackers and other utensils; prepares chicken via rotisserie oven and deep fryer; fills salads and side dishes.
• Follows Health and Safety guidelines.

What you’ll do…

1. Zones the department.
2. Rotates stock and checking for expired products.
3. Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
4. Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.
5. Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; slices and prepares merchandise, such as meat, cheese, fried chicken; and provides requested assistance.
6. Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
7. Prepares deli food orders, meat, cheese, and utilizing slicers ,stackers, and other utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven and deep fryer; and fills prepared salads and side dishes for placement into display area and specialty orders from Customers as required.
8. Follows Health and Safety guidelines.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $18.05.
