Job summary

Walmart Canada is seeking a Meat Associate in Brampton to deliver outstanding customer service while keeping the meat department clean, organized, and well-stocked. You will support daily sales activities, help create an inviting shopping experience, and work in a fast-paced retail environment with a hands-on role in food preparation and display maintenance.

This position involves rotating stock, following pricing and labeling procedures, maintaining cold chain standards, and assisting customers

Responsibilities

• Maintains department organization and standards to keep the meat department clean, organized, and ready for customers.
• Ensures all merchandise is signed and priced correctly and follows procedures for ordering, clearance, markups, markdowns, signing, flagging, pricing and labeling.
• Follows food safety and cold chain practices, including temperature checks, thermometer calibration, proper handling, product rotation, and sell-by dates.
• Prepares deli items such as meat, cheese, and fried chicken; uses slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, deep fryers and other tools safely to fulfill orders and restock displays.
• Follows Health and Safety guidelines and Walmart policies to maintain a safe, clean, and hygienic work environment.
• Supports a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.

What You’ll Do...

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Maintain Department Organization and Standards

Keeps the department clean, organized, and properly zoned to ensure it is customer-ready at all times. Rotates stock regularly and removes expired or unsellable products.

Ensure Accurate Pricing and Signing

Ensures all merchandise is correctly signed and priced. Follows established procedures for ordering, clearance, markups and markdowns, signing, flagging, pricing, and labeling.

Follow Food Safety and Cold Chain Practices

Adheres to food safety and cold chain standards, including temperature checks, thermometer calibration, proper food handling, product rotation, sell‑by dates, and expiration date compliance.

Prepare and Serve Deli Products

Takes customer orders and prepares deli items such as meat, cheese, and fried chicken. Uses slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, deep fryers, and other tools safely to prepare food, fill display cases, and complete special customer orders.

Health and Safety Compliance

Follows all Health and Safety guidelines and Company policies to maintain a safe, clean, and hygienic work environment.

Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule)

• Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Your adaptability helps ensure the store runs smoothly and customers receive consistent, high-quality service.

Physical Demands

• Performs physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting inventory, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 20 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Performs repetitive tasks such as stocking, zoning, and organizing products with attention to detail and consistency to uphold store standards.
