Overview
Position Summary: Primarily responsible for the operation and monitoring of ammonia systems and auxiliary equipment. Other job duties can be categorized as facility maintenance and may include up to 50% of the job.
What You'll Do
- Maintain/monitor/test/log all utility readings and deviations for all refrigeration equipment, meters, lines, tanks, etc., while adhering to TSSA standards.
- Participate in plant equipment repairs and installations, including preventative maintenance of building equipment such as shrink wrappers, automatic freezer doors, HVAC units, UPS, lighting, garbage compacting equipment, fire doors, emergency generator, fire alarm systems, Snow Scrappers, banana ripening rooms, air compressors, etc.
- Interact with Contractual and Inspection Departments for corrective and/or legal requirements.
- Perform routine preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on equipment.
- Maintain/complete all necessary adjustments/parameters and tests on equipment.
- Complete logbooks, work orders and apply corrective actions in a timely manner using the computerized maintenance management system.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by ensuring the plant and engine room operate in accordance with the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (T.S.S.A.).
- Ensure all work performed complies with governing practices, codes and regulations, Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, WHMIS, MSDS and Walmart policy requirements.
- Operate automated control systems.
Requirements
- Must hold either an Operating Engineer 3rd Class or Refrigeration Class B ticket in good standing with the T.S.S.A.
- Practical knowledge of the operation and maintenance of heating and cooling systems
- Strong knowledge and experience maintaining and troubleshooting Ammonia refrigeration equipment.
- Experience working with SOPs/GMPs is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to work rotating 8- and 12-hour shifts, days, nights, and weekends.
