Job description

Position Summary: To support the Store Manager and manage store operations according to Company guidelines, leading Associates to ensure friendly, helpful service and drive profitable store sales.

What you'll do:

  1. Manage sales objectives, budget, and forecasts; analyze financial and sales reports, economic trends, and community needs to respond to market changes while controlling expenses.
  2. Communicate sales results to staff, guide interpretation, and develop operational plans with the management team, setting priorities, delegating, and providing clear instructions.
  3. Ensure optimal store condition through effective merchandise presentation, accurate pricing, and adherence to company standards and directives.
  4. Implement new programs as instructed, evaluating their effectiveness across various store sectors, including cash registers, reserves, fresh products, and operations.
  5. Train assistant managers to perform multi-sector tasks as needed.
  6. Execute and monitor asset protection and security controls, maintain quality standards, oversee security checks, and ensure compliance with Walmart's directives and safety procedures.
  7. Proactively resolve compliance issues, including general controls and loss prevention.
  8. Act as a company ambassador by welcoming customers, collecting feedback, addressing complaints, and ensuring positive experiences.
  9. Lead by example in customer service, instruct staff on courteous service techniques, and support community engagement initiatives and sustainability programs.
  10. Manage staff through regular meetings, communicate operational instructions, motivate, recognize achievements, and identify high-potential employees for training and development.
  11. Uphold company values by providing honest, respectful feedback, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  12. Maintain relationships with support staff and district personnel such as HR managers.
  13. Comply with all handling, safety, and security standards, including controls for high-value merchandise and cash management up to $250,000 daily.
