Job summary

Job description

Position Summary

To support the Store Manager and manage store operations according to Company guidelines, leading Associates to ensure friendly, helpful service and drive profitable store sales.

What you'll do
  1. Drive Sales and Financial Goals: As a member of the Store Management Team, achieve sales and profit targets, manage budgets, analyze sales/financial reports, and respond to market changes while controlling expenditures. Communicate sales results to associates and guide interpretation of results.
  2. Operational Planning and Store Standards: Collaborate with the Management Team to create operational plans, delegate tasks, and ensure optimal store conditions through effective merchandise presentation, pricing, and adherence to company policies. Implement and evaluate new store programs.
  3. Asset Protection and Safety: Execute and monitor asset protection and safety controls, maintain quality assurance standards, and ensure compliance with Walmart policies and safety procedures. Address compliance issues proactively.
  4. Customer Service: Serve as a store ambassador by greeting customers, seeking feedback, and resolving issues to create a positive shopping experience. Model and enforce friendly customer service techniques.
  5. Community Engagement: Support community initiatives by participating in events and developing relationships with community groups. Promote the store's role as part of the community.
  6. Lead and Develop Associates: Conduct store meetings, communicate operational initiatives, drive engagement, recognize achievements, and provide training for professional growth. Identify high-potential employees for development.
  7. Performance Management: Hold associates accountable with timely feedback and corrective actions. Build relationships with supporting functions like HR.
  8. Merchandise Handling and Controls: Ensure compliance with handling standards for sensitive merchandise and manage cash controls, handling up to $250,000 daily.
