Position Summary...

To support the Store Manager and manage store operations according to Company guidelines and lead Associates to ensure friendly, helpful service and drive profitable store sales.

What You'll Do...

1. Drive profitable sales through achievement of sales and profit goals, budget management, and sales forecasts. Analyze sales/financial reports, economic trends, and community needs to respond to market changes while controlling expenditures. Communicate sales results to associates and guide interpretation of results.
2. Create operational plans with the Management Team; prioritize, delegate, and provide clear direction to Managers and Associates. Ensure optimal store conditions through effective merchandise presentation, accurate and competitive pricing, and store standards within Company policies. Implement and evaluate new store programs, ensuring they meet desired outcomes. Cross-train as needed across store areas.
3. Execute and monitor asset protection and safety controls; maintain quality assurance standards; oversee safety and operational reviews to ensure compliance with Walmart policies and procedures, including safety, security, sales, financial, and record-keeping practices. Address compliance issues proactively.
4. Serve Customers as a store ambassador by greeting customers, seeking feedback, and resolving issues within Company guidelines to ensure a positive shopping experience. Model and enforce friendly and helpful customer service techniques among staff.
5. Support community initiatives by participating in events and developing relationships with community groups. Engage in company-sponsored programs, events, and sustainability efforts to reinforce the store's community role.
6. Lead Associates through regular meetings, communicate operational initiatives, and foster engagement. Recognize achievements and provide professional development opportunities. Identify high-potential staff for training and growth.
7. Uphold Company values by providing timely, honest, respectful feedback and managing performance issues. Collaborate with support functions like HR.
8. Handle merchandise responsibly, including sensitive items like alcohol, ammunition, narcotics, and high-ticket items. Manage cash controls for daily transactions up to $250,000.
