Position Summary
To support the Store Manager and manage store operations according to Company guidelines and lead Associates to ensure friendly, helpful service and drive profitable store sales.
What You'll Do
- Drive profitable sales through achievement of sales and profit goals, budget management, and sales forecasts. Analyze sales/financial reports, economic trends, and community needs to respond to market changes while controlling expenditures. Communicate sales results to associates and guide interpretation of results.
- Create operational plans with the Management Team; prioritize, delegate, and provide clear direction to Managers and Associates. Ensure optimal store conditions through effective merchandise presentation, accurate and competitive pricing, and adherence to store standards within Company policies. Implement new store programs and evaluate their effectiveness. Cross-train to work proficiently in all store areas as needed.
- Monitor asset protection and safety controls; maintain quality assurance standards; oversee safety and operational reviews to ensure compliance with Walmart policies and procedures. Proactively address compliance issues, including Total Loss and general controls.
- Serve Customers as an ambassador by greeting customers, seeking feedback, and resolving needs, complaints, and issues within Company guidelines to create a positive shopping experience. Model, enforce, and direct associates on friendly and helpful customer service techniques.
- Support store initiatives to serve the community by participating in community events and developing relationships with key groups. Engage in company-sponsored programs, events, and sustainability efforts.
- Lead Associates through regular meetings; communicate operational directions and initiatives focusing on OMNI and the Total Store. Drive engagement, recognize achievements, and provide professional growth opportunities. Develop associates and identify high-potential individuals for training and development.
- Demonstrate Company values by holding Associates accountable with timely, honest, and respectful feedback and disciplinary actions. Build relationships with support functions like District HR Managers.
- Handle merchandise, including sensitive items like alcohol, ammunition, narcotics, and high-ticket items, following all standards and procedures. Manage cash controls, handling up to $250,000 daily.
