Position Summary... To support the Store Manager and manage store operations according to Company guidelines, leading Associates to ensure friendly, helpful service and drive profitable store sales.

What You'll Do...

  1. Drive profitable sales by achieving sales and profit goals, managing budgets, and analyzing sales/financial reports and community needs to respond to market changes while controlling expenditures. Communicate sales results to associates and guide interpretation of results.
  2. Create operational plans with the Management Team; prioritize, delegate, and provide clear direction to Managers and Associates. Ensure optimal store conditions through effective merchandise presentation, competitive pricing, and adherence to store standards and policies. Implement and evaluate new store programs for effectiveness.
  3. Monitor asset protection and safety controls; maintain quality assurance standards; oversee safety and operational reviews; ensure compliance with Walmart policies, safety, security, sales, financial, and record-keeping procedures. Address compliance issues proactively.
  4. Serve customers as a store ambassador by greeting, seeking feedback, and resolving customer issues within company guidelines to ensure a positive shopping experience. Model and enforce friendly customer service techniques among staff.
  5. Support community engagement initiatives by participating in events, developing relationships with key groups, and promoting sustainability efforts to reinforce the store’s community role.
  6. Lead Associates through regular meetings, communicate operational initiatives, foster engagement, recognize achievements, and provide professional development opportunities. Identify high-potential staff and support their growth.
  7. Hold Associates accountable with timely, honest, and respectful performance feedback, and manage relationships with supporting functions like HR.
  8. Handle merchandise responsibly, including sensitive items like alcohol, ammunition, narcotics, and high-ticket items, and manage cash controls handling up to $250,000 daily.
