Job summary

Walmart Canada in Red Deer, AB is seeking an energetic associate to assist in leading Fresh department operations and to support the Store Management Team with task execution and customer service excellence. You will engage customers, promote products, coordinate schedules, and contribute to a safe, clean store environment.

You will help train associates, conduct daily team huddles, monitor productivity, and support recruiting and staffing.

Responsibilities

• Providing excellent customer service by greeting customers, assisting with product promotion, locating merchandise, helping with purchase decisions, resolving issues and referring concerns as needed.
• Directing and coordinating task completion per priorities from Fresh Coach and Store Management; delegating, assisting and following-up on daily Customer Availability tasks.
• Assessing Fresh Department presentation and merchandising; implementing display changes as required.
• Maintaining strong communication with associates; leading daily Team Huddle, sharing updates, setting goals and tracking productivity.
• Reviewing completed schedules with People Lead.
• Assigning associates to support coverage and availability tasks across store areas.
• Conducting area tours with Coach and team; identifying training opportunities and providing feedback.
• Contributing to a safe, clean, hazard-free environment by following policy; completing safety logs and ensuring displays/fixtures are secure.
• Completing GTA/Workday tasks and supporting Management.
• Facilitating performance and growth conversations with Associates; supporting recruiting and hiring.

Job description

Position Summary...

Assists in the leadership of the Fresh areas and department processes, responds to problems and inquiries and develops associates through teaching and training. Ensures a high level of customer service while ensuring task completion. Plans and executes department activities based on workload and operational functions and assists on the salesfloor as required.

What you'll do...

• 1. Providing excellent Customer Service by greeting all customers in a polite and friendly manner, assisting customers by promoting products/services, locating merchandise and making purchase decisions, resolving customer issues and referring concerns where appropriate.
• 2. Assists in providing direction and the co-ordination of task completion as per communicated priorities from the Fresh Coach and the Store Management Team. Delegate, assist and follow-up on completion of daily Customer Availability process tasks.
• 3. Assesses the overall presentation of Fresh Departments and appearance, noting deficiencies for corrective action and executes merchandising display changes where required.
• 4. Ensures strong communication with associates, leads the daily Team Huddle at the start of each shift and provide the team with updates, set goals, and track productivity.
• 5. Review completed schedules with People Lead.
• 6. Assign Associates to support with coverage and availability tasks in all areas of the store.
• 7. Tours assigned areas with the Coach and team associates validate and identify training opportunities. Develops associates through teaching and training and provides feedback as needed.
• 8. Contributes to a safe, clean and hazard free work environment through adherence to Company policy and procedures, including the completion of safety sweep logs and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure and free of debris.
• 9. Complete GTA/Workday tasks and supports Management.
• 10. Partner with Coach/People Lead to facilitate performance management and growth conversations for Associates. Supports recruiting and hiring new associates.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $19.75.
