Job summary

Wal-Mart Canada Corp. is seeking a Deli Bakery Associate in Canada to provide exemplary customer service, maintain and zone the Bakery and/or Deli area, and assist with stocking and selling goods.

The role includes organizing the department, rotating stock, signing and pricing merchandise, and following food safety and cold chain procedures. Minimum wage starts at $18.05 per hour in Canada, with opportunities in both deli and bakery duties.

Responsibilities

• Zones the department to ensure shelves, tables and bunkers are organized and product is in the correct location.
• Rotates stock and checks for expired products.
• Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell‑by dates, and expiration dates.
• Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; preparing hot food merchandise and providing requested assistance.
• Prepares deli food orders utilizing utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven; and fill prepared side dishes for placement into display area.
• Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
