Job summary

Walmart in Steinbach, MB is seeking a Deli Bakery Associate to deliver exemplary customer service while maintaining Bakery and Deli areas. You will assist with stocking, pricing, and zone responsibilities to keep shelves organized and fresh.

Responsibilities include rotating stock, checking expiry, following cold chain standards, preparing deli and bakery items, and assisting customers with orders and inquiries. This role starts at a minimum hourly rate.

• Zones the department to ensure product shelves, tables and bunkers are organized and product is in the correct location.
• Rotates stock and checks for expired products.
• Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.
• Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; preparing hot food merchandise and providing requested assistance.
• Prepares deli food orders utilizing utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven; and fill prepared side dishes for placement into display area.
• Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $16.85.
