Job summary

Walmart Canada is seeking a Deli Bakery Associate to deliver exemplary customer service while maintaining the Bakery and Deli areas and assisting with stocking and orders. You will rotate stock, ensure proper signage and pricing, and follow cold-chain and food-safety protocols in a fast-paced department.

You will prepare hot foods and bakery items, service deli orders, and help with displays and shelving. The role starts at a minimum hourly rate of CAD 19.05.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.

Responsibilities

• Zones the department to ensure product shelves, tables and bunkers are organized and product is in the correct location.
• Rotates stock and checks for expired products.
• Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.
• Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; preparing hot food merchandise and providing requested assistance.
• Prepares deli food orders utilizing utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven; and fill prepared side dishes for placement into display area.
• Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
