Job summary

Wal-Mart Canada Corp. is hiring a Deli Bakery Associate to provide excellent customer service while maintaining Bakery and Deli areas. You will assist with stocking, signing and pricing, and fulfill deli and bakery orders with emphasis on freshness and safety.

The role involves ensuring proper cold chain practices, rotating stock, and following labeling and pricing procedures. The minimum wage starts at 19.05 CAD per hour in Canada and Quebec locations.

Responsibilities

• Zones the department to ensure product shelves, tables and bunkers are organized and products are in the correct location.
• Rotates stock and checks for expired products.
• Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.
• Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; preparing hot food merchandise and providing requested assistance.
• Prepares deli food orders utilizing utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven; and fills prepared side dishes for placement into display area.
• Prepares bakery merchandise by thawing and baking according to guidelines to ensure quality and visual appearance of bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Follows procedures for ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
