Job summary

Wal-Mart Canada Corp in Barrie, ON is seeking a Deli Bakery Associate to deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining the Bakery and Deli areas. You will zone shelves, rotate stock, ensure accurate signage and pricing, and follow cold chain and food safety standards.

You will assist with hot deli orders and bake or thaw bakery items to present appealing displays. Ideal candidates are at least 16 years old, committed to teamwork, and able to follow health and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Zones the department to ensure product shelves, tables, and bunkers are organized and product is in the correct location.
• Rotates stock and checks for expired products.
• Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.
• Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; preparing hot food merchandise and providing requested assistance.
• Prepares deli food orders utilizing utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven; and fill prepared side dishes for placement into display area.
• Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
