Position Summary: To support the Store Manager in managing store operations according to Company guidelines and lead Associates to ensure friendly, helpful service and drive profitable store sales. Plays an active role in professional development, with the goal of progressing towards becoming a Store Manager.

What you'll do...

1. Drive profitable sales: Achieve sales and profit goals, manage budgets, and develop sales forecasts. Analyze sales/financial reports, economic trends, and community needs to respond to market changes while controlling expenditures. Communicate sales results to associates and guide their interpretation of these results.
2. Operational planning and execution: Collaborate with the Store Manager to create operational plans; prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and provide clear directions to Managers and Associates. Ensure optimal store conditions through effective merchandise presentation, accurate pricing, and adherence to store standards within Company policies. Implement new store programs, monitor inventory, and take corrective actions as needed.
3. Asset protection and safety: Execute and monitor asset protection and safety controls. Maintain quality assurance standards, oversee safety and operational reviews, and ensure compliance with Walmart policies and procedures, including safety, security, and record-keeping practices. Proactively address compliance issues.
4. Customer service: Serve as an ambassador by greeting customers, seeking feedback, and resolving issues within Company guidelines to create a positive shopping experience. Lead by example in providing friendly and helpful customer service.
5. Community involvement: Support store initiatives to serve the community by participating in events and building relationships with community groups. Engage in company-sponsored programs, events, and sustainability efforts to reinforce the store’s role in the community.
6. Leadership and development: Lead and develop Assistant Managers. Foster engagement, recognize achievements, and provide growth opportunities. Identify high-potential associates and support their training and development. The role is expected to evolve towards Store Manager responsibilities in the near future.
7. Performance management: Demonstrate Company values by providing timely, honest, and respectful feedback to Assistant Managers. Manage relationships with supporting functions such as District HR Managers.
8. Technological adaptation: Adapt to technological changes in the retail environment. Oversee the implementation of digital applications, and train management teams on new OMNI processes and customer requirements.
