Job summary

Walmart Canada in Mississauga is seeking a friendly Bakery Associate to support daily operations in the Bakery Department. You will provide exemplary customer service, maintain the bakery area, assist with stocking, and help with sales of goods.

You will ensure quality, proper signage and pricing, follow food safety and cold-chain procedures, and help bake and display products to meet high standards for freshness and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and cleaning procedures.

What you’ll do…

1. Ensures the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise; such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
2. Ensures that department is fully stocked with merchandise and is ready for business.
3. Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
4. Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.
5. Adheres to food safety and handling procedures and following sanitation and cleaning procedures.
6. Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
7. Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
8. Ensures all displays are secured in a safe and proper manner.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $18.05.
