Job summary

Walmart Canada is seeking a Bakery Associate to support the Bakery Department by delivering great customer service, maintaining displays, and assisting with stocking and selling bakery goods.

You will follow food safety and cold chain policies, prepare bakery items according to thawing and baking guidelines, and ensure proper signing and pricing. This on-site role offers opportunities to grow in retail.

• Keep the department fully stocked and ready for business.
• Ensure merchandise is signed and priced correctly.
• Adhere to cold chain standards, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures and cleaning procedures.
• Follow ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
• Prepare bakery merchandise by thawing and baking according to guidelines to ensure quality.
• Ensure displays are secured safely.

What you’ll do…

1. Ensures the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise; such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.


2. Ensures that department is fully stocked with merchandise and is ready for business.


3. Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.


4. Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.


5. Adheres to food safety and handling procedures and following sanitation and cleaning procedures.


6. Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.


7. Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.


8. Ensures all displays are secured in a safe and proper manner.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $18.70.
