Job summary

Walmart Canada Corp in Goderich, ON is seeking a Bakery Associate to deliver friendly customer service, maintain the Bakery Department, and assist with stocking and display of bread, cakes, pies and cookies. You will follow Walmart policies and help ensure quality and safety in daily operations.

You will keep the bakery area clean, properly signed and priced, and uphold sanitation and cold-chain standards while supporting efficient, customer-focused service in a busy retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, including bread, cakes, pies, cookies and rolls.
• Ensure the department is fully stocked and ready for business.
• Ensure merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• Adhere to cold chain, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording and food handling standards.
• Follow sanitation, cleaning procedures and food safety guidelines.
• Follow procedures for ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing, labeling and pricing.
• Prepare bakery merchandise by adhering to thawing and baking guidelines to maintain quality.
• Ensure all displays are secured in a safe and proper manner.

What you'll do...

1. Ensures the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise; such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
2. Ensures that department is fully stocked with merchandise and is ready for business.
3. Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
4. Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.
5. Adheres to food safety and handling procedures and following sanitation and cleaning procedures.
6. Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
7. Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
8. Ensures all displays are secured in a safe and proper manner.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $18.05.
