Job summary

Walmart Canada Corp in Surrey, BC is seeking a Bakery Associate to deliver exemplary customer service, maintain the bakery area, and assist with stocking and the sale of goods in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will ensure the quality and visual appeal of bakery merchandise, keep the department stocked and properly signed and priced, follow food safety and sanitation standards, and help keep displays safe and well organized.

• Ensures quality and visual appearance of bakery merchandise.
• Ensures department is fully stocked and ready for business.
• Ensures merchandise is signed and priced correctly.
• Adheres to cold chain, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.
• Adheres to food safety and handling procedures and sanitation and cleaning procedures.
• Follows ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels procedures.
• Prepares bakery merchandise by thawing and baking according to guidelines.
• Ensures all displays are secured in a safe and proper manner.

What you'll do...

1. Ensures the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise; such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
2. Ensures that department is fully stocked with merchandise and is ready for business.
3. Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
4. Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.
5. Adheres to food safety and handling procedures and following sanitation and cleaning procedures.
6. Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
7. Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
8. Ensures all displays are secured in a safe and proper manner.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $18.70.
