Job summary

Walmart Canada is seeking an Asset Protection Associate to maintain a safe, secure store environment and protect people and merchandise at the Cambridge, ON location. You will patrol the store, verify security features, and support investigations, emergencies and external apprehensions.

The role involves communicating findings to leadership, supporting store operations, and adapting to a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends. Minimum wage starts at $19.35 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Store Security and Loss Prevention: Conducts daily patrols and ensures doors, showcases and security features function properly.
• Investigations and Case Support: Investigates shrink incidents and communicates findings to leadership; supports internal investigations per policy.
• Emergency Response and Store Support: Assists with evacuations and emergency procedures; participates in store task teams as needed.
• Enforcement and External Apprehensions: Performs external apprehensions in line with policies and laws.
• Communication and Reporting: Gathers information from multiple sources and reports findings clearly to stakeholders.
• Additional Duties: Completes other duties to support evolving Asset Protection priorities.
• Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule): Willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

Position Summary...

The Asset Protection Associate plays a key role in creating and maintaining a safe, secure, and professional store environment for customers, associates, visitors, and vendors. By following Asset Protection standards and demonstrating positive, professional behaviour, this role helps prevent financial and physical loss, reduce shrink, and support store profitability. Through awareness, observation, and teamwork, the Asset Protection Associate helps protect people, merchandise, and the overall shopping experience.

What You’ll Do...

Store Security and Loss Prevention

Conducts daily patrols of the store to help ensure a safe and secure environment. Verifies that doors, showcases, and security features are functioning properly and takes action as required.

Investigations and Case Support

Investigates incidents of financial and physical shrink and communicates findings to Store Leadership. For internal investigations, escalates information to the Market Loss Prevention Manager in accordance with Company guidelines. Conducts or supports investigations related to internal theft, external theft, organized retail crime, and cases assigned through Walmart Canada Global Ethics.

Emergency Response and Store Support

Supports store evacuation and emergency procedures during incidents such as fire or other emergencies. Participates in store task team responsibilities as required to support overall operations.

Enforcement and External Apprehensions

Carries out external apprehensions when required, in compliance with Company policies and legal standards.

Communication and Reporting

Gathers and communicates information from multiple sources, clearly explaining issues and findings to leadership and other stakeholders while presenting relevant perspectives.

Additional Duties

Completes additional responsibilities as required to support evolving business needs and Asset Protection priorities.

Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule)

• Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Your adaptability helps ensure the store runs smoothly and customers receive consistent, high-quality service.

• Handles a fast-paced workload with efficiency, ensuring large volumes of restocking and recovery are completed accurately and on time.

Physical Demands

• Performs physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting inventory, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 20 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Performs repetitive tasks such as stocking, zoning, and organizing products with attention to detail and consistency to uphold store standards.
