Job summary

GardaWorld is seeking a Campus Security Guard for overnight shifts in Vancouver, BC. The role focuses on visible campus safety, proactive patrols, incident response, and excellent customer service.

You will monitor for threats, provide First Aid as needed, and maintain detailed reports while upholding campus policies and access control. Qualified candidates are authorized to work in Canada, hold a BC security license, and have OFA 2 or higher.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in Canada.
• Valid BC security license.
• First aid certification - OFA 2 - Required.
• Strong communication and exceptional customer service skills.
• Strong report writing and technology skills.
• Physically able to drive, patrol, stand and walk for extended periods.
• Proficient in basic phone & computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interior and exterior patrols of the premises on a regular basis.
• Monitor for unauthorized activity, safety hazards, and security breaches.
• Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
• Provide First Aid (OFA 2 level) when required and complete all necessary documentation.
• Maintain accurate reports including daily activity logs, incident reports, and shift pass-ons.
• Enforce site policies and procedures in a professional and consistent manner.
• Assist with access control and ensure only authorized individuals enter the premises.
• Provide excellent customer service and act as a point of contact for staff, students, and visitors.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and emergency services when required.

Qualifications for Campus Security Guard

• Be authorized to work in Canada
• Hold a valid BC security license
• First aid certification - OFA 2 - Required

• Good eyesight and excellent ability to maintain focus
• Demonstrated ability to act decisively in high-pressure situations
• Strong proficiency with technology
• Physically able to drive, patrol, stand, and walk for extended periods
