Job summary

University of British Columbia Okanagan campus is seeking a Payroll Support Specialist to deliver strong customer service and payroll expertise within the Okanagan Payroll team. The role provides support and problem resolution to ensure service levels are met while handling payroll data with accuracy.

The position is part-time at 0.8 FTE with salary at 80% of the posted range, and reports to the Payroll Lead, collaborating with campus and Vancouver teams to resolve issues and improve processes.

Qualifications

• High school graduation, plus a two-year post-secondary diploma in accounting, finance or business, over four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Administers payroll and manages schedules to meet priorities and deadlines.
• Front-line liaison for campus staff to resolve technical problems and report status.
• Supports Payroll and Benefits module inquiries, troubleshooting ServiceNow tickets and Workday Notifications.
• Escalates highly complex issues to Payroll Lead.
• Ensures accuracy of payroll data for production of tax forms and year-end processes.
• Distributes payroll outputs to appropriate recipients with confidentiality.
